Scipture Comes to Life

The Apostle Paul was more than just a missionary.  He was the author of the bulk of the New Testament, and he was a prophet.  We are seeing at least two of his prophesies coming true today.  The first is found in Romans 1: 18-32.  I'm not going to type it all in this post, but I strongly encourage you to read it in your own Bible.  The bottom line of this passage though is that we are seeing these things happening daily in the headlines and through radio and TV news casts.  I will print vv28-32.  "And because they did not think is worthwhile to acknowledge God, God delivered them over to a corrupt mind so that they do what is not right.  They are filled with all unrighteousness, evil greed and wickedness.  They are full of envy, murder, quarrels, deceit, and malice.  They are gossips, slanderers, God-haters, arrogant, proud, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, senseless, untrustworthy, unloving, and unmerciful.  Although they know God's just sentence---that those who practice such things deserve to die---they not only do them, but even applaud others who practice them."
Later, in one of his letters to his protegee Timothy, he wrote, "But know this: Hard times will come in the last days.  For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, proud, demeaning, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, unloving, irreconcilable, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, without love for what is good, traitors, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, holding to the form of godliness but denying its power.  Avoid these people." 2 Timothy 3:1-5
This is almost like reading the newspaper or listening to a network newscast.  These things are happening at an alarming rate.  The sad part is that many people are not even aware of the increasing degradation of mankind.  The good part is that these events are precursors to the 2nd coming of Jesus.
Even so Lord Jesus, come quickly!
